A Poll Worker, one of the many mechanisms necessary for a successful election, is a citizen hired or volunteering to work the polls on Election Day abiding by rules and regulations set forth governing elections.
Probate Court is the Vital Records Custodian for Oglethorpe County. Both birth certificates and death certificates are available through this office for individuals who were born or died in the state of Georgia. We also file amended and delayed birth certificates.

Requests may be made in the office between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday and Fridays from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm.

Certified copies of vital records may be requested in person or in writing:

Fees: $25.00 for the first copy, $5.00 for each additional copy requested at same time

Cash, check, money order or debit/credit cards accepted (with processing fee)

For written requests, please complete the Death/Birth Certificate Request form and mail the same along with a self-addressed stamped envelope, copy of current identification, and check or money order to:
